A Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has appealed to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, to help secure his removal from the Federal Government’s wanted list.
Igboho, who was declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS) in July 2021 over alleged stockpiling of arms, made the appeal during a visit to the monarch’s palace in Ile-Ife on Saturday.
He apologised to the Ooni for past verbal attacks, describing him as a father figure, and also sought his intervention in unfreezing his bank accounts.
“I am still on the Federal Government wanted list, and I want you to help me clear my name. Also, my account is frozen and I want the embargo lifted,” Igboho said.
In his response, Ooni Ogunwusi declared that he had forgiven Igboho and assured him of support, while urging him to embrace peace. “You are a brave man and our pride in Yorubaland. We are going to ensure that your name is removed from the wanted list,” Ooni said.
