The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has directed the arrest of one of its dismissed staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, after he appeared on a matchmaking programme hosted by Nollywood actor, Lege Miami, on social media.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Monday, the commission said Folarin, a former driver at its Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was dismissed recently for certificate forgery.
The EFCC explained that Folarin was still in possession of some of the commission’s property, including an identity card, which he failed to return after his dismissal.
“The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered his arrest for being in possession of some Commission’s properties, including an identity card, which he should have handed over upon being dismissed,” the statement read in part.
It added that Folarin’s involvement in the matchmaking show did not represent the image of the commission, urging members of the public not to link his actions with the EFCC.
