Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has revealed plans to return to school to improve his understanding of music business management and strengthen control over his career.
The Zazu Zeh crooner said that although he already holds an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from Kwara State Polytechnic, he now feels the need to pursue further education to properly handle the business aspects of his growing music empire.
Portable explained that his decision was driven by the desire to understand his royalties, contracts, and record label operations without relying entirely on others for guidance.
“Even though I already have an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, I still want to further my education so I can understand my music royalties and business deals better, especially for my record label, Zeh Nation,” he said.
The singer noted that his goal is not just to earn another certificate but to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to manage his brand and earnings professionally.
“Going back to school will help me manage my career and my money correctly,” he added.
Portable, who has built a reputation for his energetic performances and outspoken personality, said he believes education will help him run Zeh Nation like a proper business rather than just a street music label.
He also urged other young entertainers to invest in learning and self-development, saying that understanding the business side of music is key to long-term success in the industry.
