The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it is set to commence contactless biometric capture with on-the-spot printing of driver’s licences as part of efforts to fully digitalise its licensing system. The Nigerian Army has confirmed that a lieutenant-colonel and many other soldiers were killed on Friday during an attack by Boko Haram in Borno State. The army said troops successfully repelled the attack but some of the Nigerian soldiers were killed during the battle. Army spokesperson Appolonia Anele, in a statement on Monday, said the troops of Operation Hadin Kai foiled the planned attack by Boko Haram around Kashimri in Bama Local Government Area of Borno, killing several insurgents and destroying their camps. The Nigeria Labour Congress has resolved to issue a four-week ultimatum to the Federal Government should it fail to conclude negotiations with all tertiary institutions-based unions.
