The Benue State government has confirmed an outbreak of rabies virus in Kwande and Gboko Local Government Areas (LGAs). The Director General, Benue Bureau of Livestock Development and Transboundary Animal Diseases Control, Aondoakaa Asambe, disclosed this in Makurdi on Monday. Mr Asambe said the bureau received reports of suspected rabies cases after a dog bite incident affecting multiple individuals in Adikpo, Kwande, and Gboko LGA. An Ikeja High Court on Thursday fixed till 19 February to hear a preliminary objection filed by Martins Otse, also known as Verydarkblackman (VDM), challenging a defamation suit against him.
